Community Crime Alert - Theft of Quad Bike Recovered
Officers are appealing for information following the theft of a quad bike from an outbuilding on the Whitfield Estate.
🕙 The theft is believed to have taken place between 10:00pm on Thursday 30 July 2026 and 7:30am on Friday 31 July 2026.
🚜 The stolen quad bike was later located in a farmer's maize field in Pembridge during the morning of 31 July 2026 and has since been recovered and returned to its rightful owner. ✅
While we're pleased that the vehicle has been recovered, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of securing rural properties, outbuildings and vehicles.
🔒 Security Advice
🏡 Home Security • Ensure doors and windows are locked, even when at home. • Consider installing CCTV, video doorbells or security lighting. • Keep valuables out of sight from windows.
🚪 Outbuilding Security • Fit robust locks, padlocks and security bars to sheds, barns and garages. • Install motion-activated lighting and CCTV around vulnerable areas. • Alarm outbuildings where possible. • Record serial numbers and photograph valuable equipment.
🚜 Vehicle & Quad Bike Security • Remove keys and never leave them in / near the vehicle, or keep in a secure location within the home • Use wheel clamps, chains or ground anchors where practical. • Secure vehicles inside locked buildings whenever possible. • Consider tracking devices and forensic marking products to assist recovery if stolen. • Park vehicles in well-lit, visible locations.
